Congratulations mama!

As a first time mom, I remember feeling super overwhelmed with watching YouTube videos, hearing conversations, and having advice coming from every which way on what products my baby must have. This blog will share from my point of view all of the products that truly were essential for us.

Skincare

We were gifted several different types of baby body washes and lotions but one product that stuck out more than the rest was Aveeno. Their body lotion keeps his skin moisturized for hours. When paired with their body wash, this set is a dynamic duo!

Another product is Aquaphor's Skin Protectant. This multipurpose ointment is great for moisturizing after a bath, as well as cradle cap, on any type of infections, eczema, AND as a diaper rash cream. I love a product with multiple use!

During pregnancy, the best skincare product for me was the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Pregnancy Kit. Now I will be transparent with you mama-- it did not stop stretch marks from occurring. However, it did leave my skin hydrated with all of the growing that our bodies must do!

Breastfeeding Essentials

I'm an advocate for using whatever works-no matter the brand. My breastfeeding essentials include brands like Medela and MomCozy as well as some brands that I came across on Amazon.

First things first, is a nursing bra! This is a must have if you are going to be breastfeeding. I enjoy the MomCozy nursing bras because they provide the most comfort for me. Along with a nursing bra, you must have nursing pads. There's nothing worse than forgetting to put a nursing pad in and leaking through your shirt (but trust me it will happen). I have tried several different brands of nursing pads and none of them compare to the capacity that Lansinoh has. if you ever need a break from wearing nursing pads, these Elvie collection cups work wonders for catching milk and helping you build your freezer supply.

The following breast pumps are what work for me:

  • Haakaa because it helps so much to help you start a milk supply

  • Medela Manual Breast Pump -seriously the best manual pump for a quick on the go pump!

  • Willow Go I love being able to track my pump sessions using their app and it's great for hands free on the go pumping

  • My back up pump--I found this pump on Amazon, nope it's not name brand. However, it gets the job done just as great.

Happy shopping! Let me know what products work for you.
